Outfit: Back To Basics

To anyone who follows my Instagram feed I apologise. For the last week I've become one of those people even I detest; a smug "look where I am" Instagrammer. I was in Croatia over the weekend (more to come) and after a really hectic few weeks Anneli and I escaped down to Limewood Hotel and Spa for a couple of days R and R. It tied in nicely with Lope's birthday too so he came along for the fun.  Here are a few pictures of us walking down to supper on Tuesday evening, which turned out to be one of the best meals I've ever eaten (unfortunately I can't promise they won't litter my feed at every given throwback opportunity in the future).

First things first, as much as my friends know me to be wearing stripes 5 days a week I realised that in 4 and a half years of running this blog I have never done a post in one! So, here is one of my favourites. My sister bought me it for Christmas last year from Petit Bateau, it's not available now but if you like the red striped there are two very similar ones available from J Crew x Saint James and Atterley, or if you're after a blue one there is absolute steal on the Net A Porter site here now.

The skirt is from Topshop (here) and is one of those pieces I know I'm going to wear from as long as my legs allow me to. It's so simple to throw on with a vest or a sweater in summer and is kind of timeless, as daft as saying that about a denim skirt sounds. My shoes are from Tod's, I made the cheeky purchase last month after years of deliberating over getting a pair. They're insanely comfortable and well worth the investment. My exact ones are here and Net A Porter have some in the sale at the moment here.

My new sunnies are from Max and Co. I've never had anything from this brand before and am very impressed, I popped in to pick out a pair last week and really struggled to make a decision! The majority of their range is available at Fenwicks. The rest of my accessories (when my hands were still enough in the photograph for you to see, Lopez wasn't too keen on standing still) are a mix of Astley Clarke bracelets here, Lucy's fab collection from Missoma here, Daisy Knights rings here and Monica Vinader gems here.

Now for the obvious star of the show, Lopez. My little dude turned 4 yesterday and boy did he have a good day. First up was a run around with Limewood lawns with Lily's dog Rudy, then he was thoroughly spoilt by the Raw and Cured team (and Poppy and Anneli when they got a look in) and spent the afternoon flirting with the girls in the hotel's office. He then got to go on a train, which is strangely one of his favourite things to do - sat upright on the seat like a meerkat. He's wearing his my favourite Creature Clothes collar from Pets Pyjamas and his lead was from a collaboration Mungo and Maud did with Mulberry last year (here).

There will be plenty more Limewood based posts over the next couple of weeks as we spent a lot of time doing what bloggers do best when they pair up; taking pictures of each other. But in summary it's been a long time since I've been so impressed with a hotel. From start to finish we had an amazing time, the room was incredible and our every wish was taken care of, from Lopez's dog bed to copious amounts of Ameretti biscuits and almond milk. Their spa (Herb House) is one of the plushest (without being OTT) I've been to in terms of facilities and their masseuses, I suspect, are angels sent from heaven. Thank you so, so much to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable!
