Look for SS11: Neon Yellow

Christopher Kane

It looks so wrong, but its so right.  Neon yellow is now not only essential gear if you are cycling home, its also an acceptable colour for an evening out too.  Takes some getting used to, but when the leading fashion houses are screaming about it, there has to be something positive going on.  Having just come home from the Selfridges sale one pair of neon shoes richer, I'm braving it...

I've put together a few pieces that are doable, and are as versatile as possible.  Yellow looks amazing on black or asian skin, or on tanned girls.  Hoping that post-Ibiza I'll be able to work this look better...

Miu Miu

This Miu Miu dress has been chosen by many a fashionista in 2011, and has been replicated across the high street.  The best one so far is from the guys at ASOS, here and at £35 it's far much more attractive than the £850 price tag above.

This one from Dorothy Perkins is much brighter instore - annoyingly it doesn't show through.  In the flesh, it really does mirror a Christopher Kane copy, and at £26 it's very reasonable.

You can break up the colour is you are hesitant to wear it all in one go.  Jessica Alba did this in a Miu Miu number a few months ago, below.  I found the one from Topshop as a comparison, in a slightly warmer shade too, which makes it all the more wearable.

Try this new one from Dorothy Perkins, so new it isn't on their website!  It's £26 and practically identical to a Christopher Kane (compare to the first picture in this piece).

Love this one from River Island, perfect for someone looking for a pleated skirt that isn't coral (is anyone else crazily bored with the same options!?)

The easiest way to cheaply work this look is by buying a bag.  Wallets and clutches are all over the place - and have a look at these two from this year's fashion week...

Clutch from Zara

Try it, you might like it!  If I can be braved away from the neutrals anyone can!
