That One Off Eccentric Purchase

I was a total tomboy growing up. I loved rugby, trains and building stuff. I didn't "waste time" with dolls and frills; I wanted to create Playmobil and Lego cities across the entire ground floor of the house (much to my poor parents' feet's despair). I know you have to be careful when describing boys' and girls' hobbies these days but in a nutshell what I mean is: I was the girl asked to "sit out" of ballet for knocking others over with my clumsy footwork, and the last thing anyone would think I'd wear would be this...

But you know what, that's kind of why I love it. I've recently realised that I am a very girly girl. I love going down to Twickenham and drinking pints, but I also make sure I don't have a chipped nail and my eyebrows are done. I'm the girl who turns up to events in jeans hoping it'll be ok, just about coping in a (very pretty and much loved) block heel.

So, I saw this tutu online and thought why the heck not? It's pink and it's massive and people smile at you in the street in it. I turn into this happy, bumbling, giggly mes.. I've never owned anything like it, never. The closest thing (a bridesmaids dress I had when I was six) was in the dressing up box for years; only ever used when I wanted to play the role of a totalitarian sister-quashing female warrior. And guess what? I f*cking love it.

If you're having fun with your outfit you inevitably have more fun. You feel good, you radiate that, other people feel good too. They say you look nice = you feel good. It's all good. I didn't even need to buy a whole new wardrobe to go with it the jumper I usually wear with jeans went really well with it and I dug out some sparkly shoes I hadn't worn for ages!

So, no prizes for guessing what I'm advice I'm going to give to you? Sometimes just buy the thing. Give the crazy skirt a go. Hell, you can return it if you don't like it. Just try it. Ooh and if you fancy a discount on it then maybe try my Black Friday sales page (I hate myself for repeating this as much as I am but you guys keep on using it so...) here.
