Cashmere Coziness with The White Company

I'm not sure about you but September seems to have gone in a second. It's October next week! Work has been crazy and I'm not sure if it's me but the shorter days seem to put even more pressure to get more done during the days. For us bloggers, gone are the days of lazed evening shoots, at least until next year!

With all the pressures of work at the moment I'm trying to use my free time better and really take the time to indulge myself with a few little additions. When The White Company approached me about working together again on a cashmere story, it fitted so neatly with where I'm "at" right now that I jumped at the chance. I thought I'd show you a few things I'm doing at the moment to help me establish some calm. Cashmere for me is just such a joy; it's naff to say but wearing it does make life better. With that in mind, heres an insight into our Sunday mornings...

Going Dotty

Well, somehow we're halfway into September. I knew it was going to be a testing month as so much was in the diary, but I didn't really take into account how much it would tire me out. Writing this post (and finding the momentum to) will take me much, much longer than usual.

Claire shot these pictures of me whilst we were on our trip to Soho Farmhouse last week with Mint Velvet. I'd never stayed there before, having only gone up for the day. I had huge guilt leaving the office for 48 hours, but I decided I had to take the opportunity to have some "me" time which was exactly what Mint Velvet had geared the trip around. Think feasts for dinners, log fires, tea making session and yoga. Not to mention their new Hygge range which is filled with everything you want for the colder months ahead.

My Version Of Girly

I took advantage of a sunny afternoon and put on my new dress from And Other Stories last week. The weather doesn't really know what it's doing at the moment so I am stocking up on pieces that'll carry me over to autumn. Dresses like this can be worn with a white shirt underneath (or I'm on the hunt for a forest green roll neck if anyone knows of one) when it gets cooler so I really didn't mind spending on it - find it here.

I love the little tie up details as it allows me to get the fit just right; I often fit strangely in dresses as I have a bigger bust than you'd expect from my waist size, and I'm short which only adds to the problems. Also I feel it's important to let you know it has pockets, because thats a life essential feature of any decent garment these days.

Wilderness with San Pellegrino

You guys already know that I'm a tad obsessed with festivals. In particular; UK based festivals with lots of food and friends. When San Pellegrino asked me if I'd like to come along with them (they were the sparkling water sponsors) it didn't take much persuading.

For those who haven't been to Wilderness before, here are a few things to bear in mind. First up; it's full of people of a certain, type. The whole weekend is an avid display of the Overheard At Waitrose twitter feed (see here). The people four tents down from us brought their own pizza oven, and 95% of attendees were beautifully bronzed from trips to their holidays involving boats in France and Croatia.

Weekday Denim

As a blogger I really try to be true to myself and my audience and pair with brands I love. Sometimes when a new retailer comes along it's hard to make that call. So when Weekday asked me to let my followers know they had a new store on Regent Street in London, I thought I'd ask around. I hadn't heard of them before... Silly old me.

You see, when I asked my sister she stopped dead in the street and said, "They do the best denim known to man." Another friend who's choice of jeans I'd admired for years announced hers always come from there and she buys them in bulk whenever she goes home to Stockholm. As you can imagine I was curious. I googled the brand a bit and found they were already stocked on ASOS and I'd actually bought a jumper from them last year, that remains a faithful "throw on" when the sun goes down in summertime.

Barnsley House

Followers of my Instagram will know we spent a lovely couple of days in the Cotswolds at Barnsley House. We stayed at The Painswick last year, so we already knew about the Calcot Collection (there are five or six properties across the country of similar style) and we'd had a brilliant time - so were expecting lots from our mini break. We arrived to perfect sunshine and after a game of croquet (could it be in any more English?) and an Aperol Spirtz we decided we'd take a walk around the grounds - with me in my fancy-pants new dress.
