Woah, the sun is still shining! This week I don't feel I need to apologise for my summer picks as it actually seems reasonable (at least if you're in London). First up is this little gem from River Island. I've picked it because for months I've been trying to find a cheaper version of Ellery (little known Australian brand) and have finally found it. This top is perfect for the office, or for a summery day, and it's £30! Next up is some white denims - it took me years to get my head around the idea that a normal sized person can wear them and my favourite are these Paige Verdugo jeans. Yes, they're expensive but when it comes to denim the sooner you realise that if you "pay peanuts, you get monkeys" the easier jean shopping will become for you…
blue sleeveless shirt, River Island / white jeans, Paige Denim / white off shoulder top, Warehouse / woven espadrilles, Manebi / sunhat, Reiss / denim jacket, Madewell / striped denim shorts, APC / taupe pencil skirt, Warehouse / green crochet top, Topshop / nude laced heels, LK Bennett / swimsuit, French Connection
Summer is my favourite time for footwear, especially after the last couple of seasons when flats became acceptable beyond the beach. Manebi is one of my favourite brands, and these are gorgeous. Secondly, new brand to Net A Porter, Flamingos has some really cool ones too. It took me seeing these on someone walking through town the other day to fully appreciate how great they are - these are firmly on the wish list.
It's so easy to go a bit crazy and buy hundreds of new tops when it gets a bit warmer and I really have to work to restrain myself and think about what I need each year. This year, I'm stocking up on off the shoulder pieces and vests that flatter (as I already have the simple tees sorted). This white off the shoulder top from Warehouse is perfect, and I love the green of this Topshop number.
Other favourites include this pencil skirt from Warehouse, these striped denim shorts from APC and these nude LK Bennett heels. Ooh and I needed to share this denim jacket because I've been hunting for one this length for ages. Madewell is J Crew's little sister and I'm so glad you can get it over here in the UK as I used to buy it in bulk (on the dollar exchange rate) whenever I went to the US. This one is ace as most denim jackets cut me off in a really unflattering place, this one being a little longer solves that problem. Happy shopping, people!
