Elle Street Style from NYFW in Roberto Cavalli / Tadashi Shoji SS13 Show
One look I have been keeping a very close eye on from last year's shows were the blue and white antique/China prints, as shown at Roberto Cavalli, Joseph, Dolce and Gabbana and Tory Burch. I love the intricacy of it all and have been patiently waiting to see how this would be accessible to all in stores. So far, only the higher end of the market has picked it up - but I love it so much I think I'm going to invest in something - these colours and prints are 110% up my street. Here is my selection so far:
Isabel Marant Etoile, £300 / Joseph, £465 / Moschino Cheap and Chic, £450 / Philosophy di Alberta Ferreti, £270 / Cavalli, £520 / Moschino Cheap and Chic, £353 / Cavalli, £1450 /Richard Nicoll, £650
I love the mix of the high tech digital prints from Richard Nicoll against the mock-hand paint effect from people like Marc Jacobs - so many ways to wear it and is a nice, steady move forward from the Breton and stripe pieces in the same colours in previous seasons. One surprise favourite is from Karen Millen, this Iris print peplum top and trouser are absolutely gorgeous (below)... Lots of denim brands are bringing out similarly printed pieces... the AG / Liberty collaboration, J Crew's styles and Gap's designs are not to be missed - keep an eye out for them!
