Don't get me wrong I love the summer sun we've been having, but at heart I am a winter dresser and love the layers, tones and general vibes that are coming through for AW12. It seems like a long time in coming (after all the runway collections were shown 8 months ago now) but the looks are finally here.
Tommy Hilifiger AW12
One look I am absolutely loving is the new full length military coat. Double breasted jackets and roll top necklines have been around for a while, but this season we've added some gold buttons and some longer length. I love the strength of the pieces, I know that sounds a bit 'fah-shun,' but hopefully you know what I mean...
Carven AW12 / Isabel Marant AW12
Ferragamo AW12 / McQ by McQueen AW12
Everyone gave it a go at the shows, from classic heritage brands like Tommy Hilifiger, to edgier/smarter names like Isabel Marant, Ferragamo and McQ by McQueen. It fits in quite nicely with other themes; adding black to navy and the twills/tweeds/plaids that are popping up everywhere. I love the mix of reds and grey (look out for that mix up, sometimes with navy for AW12), so was thrilled when I spied this little gem from that clever ASOS team.
I think £67.50 is a bloody bargain for a good coat, and on a more expensive note I've also been spying on this (click here) amazing Joseph one ever since I went along to the my-wardrobe evening a couple of weeks ago. I need one of these in my life, and quickly before the rain comes. Finally, do check out my AW12 trend review which I wrote straight after the shows in February. Even I find them useful - checking up on what was worn, by who, and how... Toodles for now!
