Duchess Kate has been mixing it up a little bit recently, and for the first time in a while I really loved an outfit she wore - a week ago for a society wedding. She looked fresh as a daisy and her dress was fresh, summery and general a little bit different to her usual stuff - saying that, she did wear those LK Bennett 'hearing aid beige' shoes with it...
I do love Kate's style - but she is painfully 'simple' in her styling ideas: green for St Patrick's Day, maple leaves in Canada, cowboy hat in America, red/white/blue outfits at the jubilee - this week it was a tartan print clutch at the Order of the Thistle... Any way, last Sunday I loved her choice. The dress is by her friend's company, Beulah. It costs over £470 and quite frankly, it's too expensive for what it is. As usual, this has sold out but Beulah have been very, very quick to rustle up as much as they can in the same fabric here, haha.
I however, have found a very good (better, a mon avi) option by Tegan - a sister brand to French Connection who very kindly dressed me for Henley last week and for an upcoming magazine piece which - fingers crossed - comes out tomorrow (oooh, get me). I wore the yellow version of this similar print here. It is more of a summer version of Kate's dress; the back is gorgeous and and the halter neck is very flattering. I felt gorgeous all day, dare I say it.
I really can't recommend Tegan enough; their clothes are so beautifully made and the quality makes it absolutely worth the price. Browse their whole website here, I guarantee you'll find something you want.
