Paris Fashion Week, Look 5 - Red Hot

How are all your weeks going?  Mine has been hectic, I am writing this very late at night as my day job is so busy at the moment - good busy, but very busy.  4 weeks and 3 days until my holiday now - cannot wait!  My boyfriend and I send each other emails every morning with pictures of the beach on.  Sad but true.  Although we live together, it does feel like we are ships passing in the night at the moment - and he goes to Boston, Washington and New York next week.  It will be lovely to have some time with him and only him (and my iPad).

Giambattista Valli AW12 / Issey Miyake AW12

Cacharel AW12 / John Galliano AW12

Chalayan AW12 / Jean-Charles de Castelbajac AW12

Sonia Rykiel AW12 / Lanvin AW12

On to part V, yes V of my Paris Fashion Week review - have a got a little bit over excited about all this, I do apologise.  Whilst New York and London stuck to wine reds and burnt oranges, Paris didn't hold back and went for full throttle rouge.  Red dresses were all over the runways - most letting the colour do the talking and keeping the rest of the garment plain, but with a few house using the look to demonstrate their signature styles (Lanvin and their peplum, and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac with his haunting embroidery). Note lots of the simple waist belts too...

Christian Dior AW12 / Comme des Garcons AW12

Reds within floral and oriental patterns were also in a number of collections - the most prominent being from Christian Dior and Comme Des Garcons above.  As I mentioned before, pairing up red trousers with broderie and lace featured a few times too - the best examples being at Isabel Marant and Chloe's shows below.

Isabel Marant AW12 / Chloe AW12

Finally, I thought reds were split into two differing categories - easy to wear (with slouched jackets and sport style necklines) below, and then the totally other end of the scale - extreme glamour the bodiced dresses, silks and ties.  Overall, I loved it - the colour is tricky to wear, if it is cheap it will look cheap - but  on the flip side red is such a versatile tone that I reckon every one will be on to it this winter...

Kenzo AW12 / Agnes B AW12

Giambattista Valli AW12 / Givenchy AW12

Any who, enough of my ramblings - as a quick note please do make sure you enter my Cowshed competition today.  You can win £70 worth of Cowshed goodies for Mothers Day.  I'll be selecting a winner tonight.

Realy enjoying how much orange there is in this post - my favourite colour!

Thank you for all your kind comments on my blog, I'm terrible at getting back to readers, but no, I don't work in editorial at the moment. I hope to one day make it my livelihood though!
