I promised myself I wouldn't do this, but I've left myself down. I said I wouldn't let myself get fixed on a collection, but then Chloe came along and screwed it all up. It was amazing. Clare Waight Keller's second show for the fashion house struck gold. As a round up, Clare said the look was, 'French sophistication with an English festival' type vibe. I LOVED IT.
The soft pastels for which Chloe is so famous blended in perfectly with parkas and boyfriend pants - and I reckon that Lucy bag is going to be a real hit... The cocoon coats of London and New York also featured, and there was a distinctly British about it - Daks style checks, Burberry style parkas and tailoring that wouldn't have gone amiss at Christopher Kane and JW Anderson... Loved the lace brocaderie too.
The only criticism (if you can call it that) is that Clare has found her feet now, safe in Chloe's arms. Now that she has managed to prove she understands the meaning of being CD for Chloe I hope we start to see some of her own ideas storming through. This collection was filled with creations and colours that have been with the house for years - now that she has achieved fashion greatness, lets let her shine... It worked for Stella and Phoebe...
