I've been a fan of this company for a while - why on earth I haven't posted on them before I really do not know, a period of madness perhaps!? Crumpet was born in 2006, with a goal to create a luxury knitwear brand with key capsule-wardrobe themed cashmere pieces. Right up my street. The brand has gone from strength to strength fashionistas from Alexa Chung to Elle Macpherson donning their collections...
As the success has built, Crumpet and also formed a well earned reputation for pushing the boundaries with cashmere. Knitwear can often be considered a little 'last generation' but Crumpet have made a real effort to incorporate long-term trends into their seasonal collections. Their spring collection is as fresh as a daisy and clearly shows how you can incorporate the softest fabric in the world into a modern, on trend wardrobe.
They are also well known for their breton cashmere jumpers, that have been worn by many a famous face including Claudia Schiffer, Kate Moss and Duffy. If you are a regular reader/follower of South Molton St Style then you will know about my Essentials Series (where I outline what, in my view, are absolute necessities) and the Breton top is definitely one of them... Crumpet's version is gorgeous and very luxe-chic, priced £300. Have a look on their site (and purchase, duh) here.
Their tank tops are a good place to start for anyone looking to test out the idea of wearing knitwear more. They come in some very, very wearable colours and are very well shaped. I have my eye on the black one - it would be such a useful piece for mixing up outfits and you'd get tonnes of wear out of it....
Lastly, my absolute favourite piece is this lace and cashmere biker jacket - just because it is such an original piece and you'll never find anything like it elsewhere. £275 might be a little out of price ranges for some - but for that amount of handiwork and design I think it's a well priced item.
I need it so much - it one would go so, so well with my floral Zara dress for a wedding I am going to in May (anyone else got a zillion wedding abroad to go to this year!?). Edgy I know, but the bride and groom are creatives and so black will be acceptable... You can buy it here, and I think you should - but leave me time to get around to buying it as if sells out I will cry!
Finally (and I mean it this time) - for those of you who are London based, Crumpet is having a sample sale on the 22nd and 23rd of March in SW10 - for further details click here.
