High Street: ASOS Spooky Sweater

I hate Halloween - I don't like pumpkins, at all.  Everyone seems to want to champion a way to cook/eat/display them.  If you want something orange and fruity - have an orange.  Pumpkins are a bit like goats - why have them?  Something better does everything they do.  THEN we start with scary movies - my god, I can't even watch ER in case of the slight of blood.  I once accidentally watched Paranormal Activity on a flight home from New York - error - haven't been in my flat on my own since, at least at night.

But, it is with great pleasure that I have found something to do with Halloween that I really, really like - this jumper from ASOS - simple, slouchy fun.  And only £25 - buy it here.

Burberry Body Beverly Hills Launch

Never seen such a well dressed guest list.  Christopher Bailey opened the doors to his Beverly Hills to welcome the addition to his perfume collection, named Burberry Body.  The attendees looked amazing - in particular Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Kate Bosworth, Cat Deeley and Glee's Jayma Mays.  Also, who is Erin Heatherton?  She looked gorgeous at this 'do' and I've never heard of her - pics below.

Oasis AW11 Campaign
I. Absolutely. Love. Oasis. At. The. Moment.  I've been dying to find you guys a good peplum top, following on from the surge of them all over the designer catwalks for AW11.  Peplum dresses are few a penny, but well made structured tops are scarce. This one is amazing, and also comes in striped and hot pink (any plans for a black or white version, please Oasis team?).  Here's a few images of peplum tops from Celine's RTW AW11 show...

Buy the gorgeous blue top from Oasis direct here for £30.

Kirsten Dunst for T Magazine

Found these pics on The Glamourai and thought I'd share.

Draped in Celine, YSL, Louis Vuitton, Carven, The Row, and Calvin Klein for T Magazine.  Kirsten has literally never looked better. If I had my way, that Celine coat would be hanging in my wardrobe immediately. Bold, classic and completely wearable.

High Street: Dorothy Perkins Deco Midi Dress

I am so impressed with Dorothy Perkins and this dress - colour selections vary too so there really is something for everyone.  I first saw this style from the Milan catwalks when Miuccia Prada donned her models with a similar styles in ice cream tones for the summer.  The vampish necklines and mix of the brights with the bolds - pair them up with some heels and retro sunglasses and you've got the whole 50s glamour going on.  Buy it now at DP for £42 here.

High Street: Sneak Peak of Mary Katrantzou for Topshop

OMFG - anyone else as excited as me about this!?  I am loving Mary Katrantzou's whole collection and was delighted to hear she was doing a collaboration with Topshop.  I follow Hannah Almassi, a journo from Grazia on Twitter as she manages to find all the great little secrets ahead of many others - and she struck gold again with this pic yesterday.  I cannot wait to be able to buy this - quite happy to queue in the rain at 5am...

Look for AW11: Fur Scarves

The glamour of a faux fur collar really knows no bounds.  Gucci's AW11 collection was full of them - and oozed class and sophistication (so long as the ones you buy are fake...).  In greens, purples and oranges - these looks can transform an old coat or blazer - and are perfect for this autumnal weather as they're warm enough to replace a light jacket at weekends.  Topshop picked up on this, and have made their own range for £50, which perfectly mirrors the Gucci style on the top right - as shown on the model below.

Here they are in all their glory:

Rust colour - £50 here

Grey colour - £50 here

Green colour - £50 here

Whilst they may not seem cheap, they're a lot less than a new jacket - Recommend you purchase while stocks last; once the masses pick up on this they'll be gone in a flash!

High Street: The Quest for Celine...

Apologies for being a bit low on the blogging but I have been a very busy bee whilst on gardening leave - amazing how the time flies.  Yesterday I met my sister (who has The Hart Blog, check it out) for lunch and we were both saying how the high street is proving a little uninspiring at the moment, and we find ourselves longing for the designer stuff we've spent the last few weeks viewing at the fashion shows.

From: iasome.tumblr
My little designer crush has been on Celine AW11 since their Paris show in February - I've been routing around the high street trying to find similar pieces - I love the colour mix ups: the cream, forest greens, aubergines and monochrome.  Sharp cuts and structure combined with relaxed oversize shirts with soft bias lines and palazzo pants.  Easy peasy style...

And I love the envelope cuts and texture varieties - this look is perfect for someone who is a little bit stuck in monochrome (moi) as you can add your white shirts and black trousers in with the look. (also notice the red soles on the shoes, poor Louboutin losing their trademark after the court case...).  So the quest began for a way to look all French and Celine-y.  Zara solved my problems.

This top for me is perfect - the camel colour is far more cream in reality.  The colour blocking is completely right for this look and the neckline is borderline daring (works fine with a normal bra).  The cut looks fantastic and very expensive, much more than it's £29.99 price tag (buy it here).  Now for the bottom half - thinking we need to inject some aubergine as it's the one colour that's missing.

Two options: for total Celine I'd probably go for the first as palazzo pants were all the way through their collections.  Palazzo pants are great for taller girls and also hide a multitude of sins.  Buy these ones for £39.99 here.  However, being only 5 foot 4 they don't really work for me, I prefer the second choice: the ciagrette pants as they have a stronger, tailored look and you can show off your shoes more (plus hiding your feet when you're short is a total no no).  Buy them here for £35.99.

Last but not least, I think we need some white to brighten up the look - in the form of a jacket.  Oversize but well shaped, this one above if perfect.  Overall, I think this coins the Celine look perfectly - very chic and very French.  I bought the top and have the coat on my birthday list... Here's hoping!

[Craving] Oasis Satin Minimal Dress

Oooooh, have just been in Oasis's new Argyll Street store in London and my goodness is it good.  Everything from the layout to the staff make you want to relax and spend time browsing - which is exactly what I did.  I used to struggle with the brand as I never really found anything massively on trend there - but my god has that changed!  I'm looking for a dress for my birthday dinner next week, and found this - what do you think?

At £60 I think it's very reasonable - the quality is great and fits me really well (the puffed skirt hiding many a sin/jaffa cake).  Royal blue... this colour has been coined this year by a certain Kate - and this dress shows us why - beautiful.  I was thinking of teaming it up with my leopard print belt and some patent heels, shall I buy it?
