High Street: Zara's J Brand Cargo Jeans

The main item to branch out of SS11's military trend was J Brand Cargo Jeans (or Houlihan pants, as their official name), worn by everyone from Angelina Jolie to Rihanna.  You can wear them for anything, anywhere - we love them.  But they were quite pricey, and remain so, so we stepped back from purchasing.  Luckily Zara have come up with a brilliant like for like pair, for £25.99.  We spotted them on a girl on Carnaby street today, and assumed they were J Brand - but no!  Here they are:

Designer: Phillip Lim 3.1's AW11 Bronze

There is one look we are crazy about for autumn, bronze.  We quite liked the metallics over the summer, but the warmer tone of bronze just makes us happy inside.  In particular, we love Phillip Lim 3.1's collection, complete with this gorgeous bronze short-suit above.  Tailoring is incredible, as is the price.  However, having popped down to the Monsoon press day (how good are these guys these days!?) we spied this amazing pair of shorts below.  At £42 they tick every box including the 'if we don't buy some bronze we're going to pass out' one.  Team them up with a plain tee and simple heels and you've got a lovely drinks and dinner outfit.  We're wearing ours (in our heads at the moment, they get instore early August) with our navy Zara jacket, silk cream blouse and ASOS wedges.  Bliss.

Tuesday

Duchess of Cambridge in Joseph

Just incase we ever needed a reminder on why we Brits love the royal family, you should probably watch a youtube video of the Queen and the Duchess of Cornwall visiting the new Buckingham Palace exhibition on Friday last week.  The Queen, as only the Queen can do, took one look at the Alexander McQueen wedding dress worn by Kate and said 'Gosh it looks horrible! Horrid.'  Here's a few pictures from the day. including Kate's gorgeous cream/camel dress - proving us at South Molton St Style right, this is a true essential and can be worn for anything from a day in the office to tea with the Queen...

High Street: H&M take on Erdem!

We're getting a bit bored of being obsessed with Kate Middleton's wardrobe, but the girl just keeps on wearing stuff we want - we can't help it.  One piece we're really keen on robbing a bank in order to buy, was this Erdem AW11 dress she donned during the Canada tour...

Now this dress isn't available to Mrs Normal-Average Public yet, but we're guessing when it is that it will be one of those heart breaking moments when we click onto netaporter.com and see for ourselves that we are about £1,000 away from being able to afford it (as IF Kate doesn't get freebies from designers, we do not buy her claim for an instant).  BUT, fear not - look what H and M have made...

It's not identical, but for £24.99 who bl**dy cares?  It looks amazing on (girl in the office was wearing it the other day and looked gorgeous), and as an added bonus you don't have to get onto a waiting list for 4 months to own it - you can go and get it now instore, or order it online here.  Don't say we don't spoil you :)

High Street: H&M's AW11 Lookbook

Sneak peak at H and M's autumn lookbook -we're in love with it already.  Mixes up burnt oranges with magentas with sixties style, but the pieces are so subtle that they'll carry over for seasons on end.  How gorgeous is the model too!?

We're in love with the coat (£99.99), mini skirt (£34.99) and finally the lovely silk shirt (£34.99).  Cannot wait  to get our hands on it - looks like we're going to be needing to tone up our legs in time for winter (the irony, for summer we could keep them under a maxi, but as soon as it gets cold we need to get our legs out!) There are so many minis coming out for AW11, we can't escape it!

Look for AW11: Dolce and Gabbana Star Print

Have a feeling the star print is going to be big, mainly because its incredibly esay to imitate Dolce and Gabbana's entire AW11 collection just by covering any item of clothing in stars.  I guess its a logical move on from the polka dots of SS11 - and judging by the covers of the womens' magazines at the moment, its set to be everywhere (seriously, do magazines not do market research anymore? How can two big magazines put a celeb in the same dress for the same issue?).  Dolce and Gabbana PR must be walking on air...

Look out  for the surge of stuff coming through from the high street - the best bits we've found have been at ASOS and Vera Moda.  Here they are:

We love the trousers the most, the pattern is most like the Dolce and Gabbana one too.  Perfect high street steal - we want  it badly.  If you happen to find a star print shirt in black and white please let us know, Anna is dying for one...

Designer: The Chanel 2.55

It's the bag every girl could so easily add to their wardrobe - so much so, if we had a pound for every copy we've seen, we'd probably have enough to buy a real one.  Here are our favourite pics from a assorted mix of blogs, sites and papers...

Look for AW11: Cobalt Blue

I constantly take the mick out of Steph for living in cobalt blue, but it seems she may be one step ahead of me given the surge of the colour making it on to the red carpet.  This is great for all skin tones, as the photos below show - BUT - remember don't buy a garment for just it's colour - make sure it fits well too.  This shade will never really go out of fashion, its a bit like red in that regard... Here are some of the looks we've been oogling over recently:
Kate Walsh @ People's Choice Awards

Kate Middleton in Erdem AW11

Natalie Portman in Jason Wu

Reece Witherspoon in Stella McCartney

Beyonce Knowles in Elie Saab

Lauren Conrad in Roland Mouret

Blake Lively in Victoria Beckham

So, Steph wins... cobalt blue remains in.

Boutique: Gryphon at The Outnet

So I've just come to work after a few days off unwell, and am yet to do any work as The Outnet sent me an amazing email about a new brand called Gryphon who they're selling at between 60% and 80% off at the moment.  Bargain.  Gryphon do basics, an embelllish them where appropriate - making a great weekend look (or even a relaxed dinner date).  They all have awesome tribal themed pieces, which I absolutely love...

Effortless style, here are my favourite bits...

Have ordered the shorts, oops - but they will be perfect for my Miami trip.
