Natalie Suarez in Yellow Pencil Skirt

Natalie Suarez from natalieoffduty.blogspot

I'm 5 foot 3, and slightly curvier than I'd like to be - which obviously makes me terrified of pencil skirts.  They are for two kinds of people - slim girls with slight hips, or larger girls with voluptuous shape - I am sadly neither.  I'm average.  BUT, this picture from Natalie Suarez's fab blog natalieoffduty really made take the plunge.  I'm willing to take the risk to get an outfit this good.  Hers is by Anna Della Russo (jealous, much?) but I've gone for a Topshop number - Natalie's patterned top shifts the eye from the shape of her bottom half - even though she clearly doesn't need to.  Also, pencil skirts don't have to be tight fitting - mine is pleated (again, shifts the eye downwards) and loose, see here:

Buy it here for £48 at Topshop.  Love this look, and thank you for Natalie for giving me a second thought on them.  I'll obviously be wearing Spanx pants underneath (sexy) - something I doubt she will ever need to own!
