Haute Habit's review on Alexa Chung for Madewell AW11

It seems slightly wrong than a great collection by one of recent times biggest British fashion icons is inaccessible to us UK residents.  But that is the case with Alexa Chung's collaboration with US brand Madewell.  As South Molton St Style can't be there, we asked one of our blogger friends over in New York who is far better placed to give us a little down low on the best pieces.  Haute Habit, it's all yours....

"Attention all Alexa Chung followers: Get your credit cards ready. The second round of “Alexa Chung for Madewell” is officially available and this collection…well…it’s a godsend.

Alexa’s second collaboration with the retailer is perfect - in every sense of the word. Featuring some of Alexa’s well known (and sought after) iconic looks, this collection speaks to those of us who are obsessed with the flowing 60’s, laid-back, girly, rocker-chic style. Have I mentioned she styled the collection herself? Yes, this girl is genius.

From a gorgeous lace mini-dress, to a flowing silky pajama top. High-rise denim shorts to the perfect leopard bootie. A fabulously original palm tree jersey dress to a totally cute and wearable (and yes…I am wearing it) retro pleated cocktail dress. This collection has Alexa’s fantastically unique and original style written all over it. And I, like the rest of the fashion world … approve.

Thank you so much to Jess at Haute Habit for this round up - as if we needed more of an excuse to go over to the US, but lets be honest, we'd all love to get ours hands on these pieces.  I've been to the Madewell store in Soho a couple of times - it's loads of fun and the staff are lovely, lovely, lovely...  Felt very strange to see Hunter wellies and wax jackets in Manhattan though - being a Brit is en vogue.  Woop
