Look for AW11: Snakeskin

Fashion East

Elle magazine called snakeskin 'leopard's little sister,' which coins the look perfectly.  When animal prints take to the fashion shows, snakes are never far behind.  And so it starts, with the high street filling themselves up with as many scale covered pieces as possible.  Definitely worth investing in, as it still came up at the SS12 shows so you'll be wearing it for a while.  Here are our favourite bits for your wardrobe:

Equipment £49

This is a look we can't see going anywhere for a while - but be careful wearing it as it can look cheap.  Don't be tempted to buy coloured versions of the print unless you are part of the Only Way is Essex cast as you'll look like you cost £3, or £50 for the night.  With the bold exception of one pair of shoes by Kurt Geiger which I spotted at their press day, and again on EverythingButTheDress' blog - gorgeous!

We're going to take the same approach to this as we have animal prints, and accessorize with the look rather than cover ourselves in it - purely because we've spent all our money on the pastels recommended at NYFW!  Saying that, it will take a lot to stop us buying that Equipment shirt...

Agreed! shoes or scarves only can't do the snakeskin trousers thing!
