London Fashion Week, Look 1 - Metallics

And so we're on to round 2: London Fashion Week.  Keeping up with this one was pretty much impossible - living in the thick of it means an even bigger pressure to get on top of the looks and trends shown by the Brit Fash pack.  The most obvious one was gold, and not in a Spandau Ballet way.  Metallics and all things shiny caused an absolute storm, tears even in the case of Christopher Kane.

In young Christopher's case, metallics were bold, origami-like and thrown in with contrast pieces like sixties delicate necklines, sportsluxe oversize tees and cricket jumpers.  Keeping up the New York trend for pastel pallets too.  This look will be an easy one to roll on to the high street... as Topshop Unique proved a day before...

We did a review for this fabulous Sunday show on one of our favourite blogs called - have a look here.  In a nutshell, for Unique, metallics were all part of the Egyptian Cleopatra does Urban London - opulence (in this case, gold hair spray), bodycon and sportsluxe all came together.  And worked.

Gold and her friends took on a more relaxed look over at Mulberry - hating the overuse of the word, but when hoodies go gold there really is no other word than sportsluxe!  Overall, Mulberry had a decidedly beach theme - but Emma Hill made sure she threw in a few outfits to cover off the metallics look (above).  Metal sweats are so easy to replicate on the high street, I'm sure the usual suspects are rustling one up as we speak!
