Olivia Palermo is the definition of fashion controversy - are you a lover or a loather? Anyone who watched her in The City probably isn't a huge fan - she was a total cow. But as much as we try to hate her, she is just too gorgeous to ignore. Our boyfriends are infatuated with her (probably doesn't help her popularity's case with the ladies) and she has one of the best wardrobes in New York (literally, have you seen the Cribs episode on MTV?). My favourite of her looks are her breton shirts, so much so it encouraged me to include it as an essential pieces in my post here.
I really love how she mixes Breton styles up with prints and fabrics - loving her leather skirt (found a similar one from the The Outnet here for £350, eek), tuxedo blazers and her trusty utility jacket (again, she inspired this post on my essentials series).
I recently posted about my love for Breton shirts, and here is the all important list of the best places to get them - a mon avi - so you have no excuse not to be a little bit Olivia for the day!
Where to buy your Breton:
Quba - lovely little British brand that I found recently, this Mimram sweater is a gorgeous wool Breton.
American Apparel - as just mentioned, this company have a great range of traditional styles in the blue and red stripe
Chinti and Parker - new name love! I discovered this last week and have completely fallen for all their stuff. Net A Porter have a great selection, or visit the full site for the overall sale pieces.
Petit Bateau - where else than this fab French brand for a quintessentially French piece? Their 'mariniere' range is fab - my favourite one is here.
Kain - big fan of this essential comfort brand, and their Breton is 60% off at Net A Porter at the moment!
Whistles - of course this brilliant store have such a good classic piece, love it too!
